The statistics of hypertension in the United States is dreadful picture of something going on deep inside much of our population.

Having high blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke, which are leading causes of death in the United States.

According to the CDC, these are statistics of people in the United States for adults over 20 years old.

  • About 75 million American adults (32%) have high blood pressure—that’s 1 in every 3 adults.
  • About 1 in 3 American adults has prehypertension—blood pressure numbers that are higher than normal—but not yet in the high blood pressure range.
  • Only about half (54%) of people with high blood pressure have their condition under control.
  • High blood pressure was a primary or contributing cause of death for more than 410,000 Americans in 2014—that’s more than 1,100 deaths each day.
  • High blood pressure costs the nation $48.6 billion each year. This total includes the cost of health care services, medications to treat high blood pressure, and missed days of work.*

Medications...and the problems they bring

Most medications that are given to the masses never address the 'root' issues - they simply address the 'fruit' which masks the symptoms and

keeps people on medications daily for a lifetime.  While the medicines are masking the symptoms, the root of the issue continues to bloom

since it's never addressed.  Some of the side affects of blood pressure medicines are:

  • unexplained muscle pain,
  • tenderness, or weakness;
  • confusion,
  • memory problems;
  • fever,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • and dark colored urine;
  • swelling,
  • weight gain,
  • urinating less than usual or not at all;
  • increased thirst,
  • increased urination,
  • hunger,
  • dry mouth,
  • fruity breath odor,
  • drowsiness,
  • dry skin,
  • blurred vision,
  • weight loss;
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • itching,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dark urine,
  • clay-colored stools,

Just this month, Valsartan was recalled by the FDA, a week after 22 other countries recalled it because it poses a potential cancer risk.

 “The recall is due to the presence of the impurity, N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which was found in the recalled products, according to

an FDA statement. NDMA is an organic chemical that is in a family of potent carcinogens. It has been used to make liquid rocket fuel,

softeners and lubricants, among other products. It can also be unintentionally produced through certain chemical reactions and is a byproduct

from some pesticide manufacturing, the making of rubber tires or fish processing. Animal studies have shown that NDMA can be toxic and

cause tumors in the liver, kidney and respiratory tract. It can also be potentially harmful to humans in certain quantities. Exposure to high

levels can cause liver damage and is a probable human carcinogen, according to the US Department of Health and Human Services.” Some

levels of the impurity may have been in the valsartan-containing products for as long as four years.

Common blood pressure medications have also been shown to increase risk of stroke, edema, headaches, nightmares, depression, etc. This is

really unfortunate because high blood pressure is actually quite simple to address naturally.

Refined sugar, not salt is a huge culprit

Salt has been deemed the major culprit to high blood pressure but conventional medicine has it wrong...SUGAR is the real menace that

messes with blood pressure (2).  Before refrigerated foods came along, most foods were fermented or salted.  It was a natural way to

preserve foods.  As this age passed, salt decreased in our diets but SUGAR has sky-rocketed.  Sugar has many negative side effects such as:

  • Refined sugars cause inflammation in the blood vessels
  • Refined carbohydrates increase water in the blood and in order to maintain the proper sodium balance, the body will retain water in the blood vessels
  • The acidity of things high in sugar, such as soda, require the body to pull calcium and magnesium out of the body in order to balance the acidity.  This causes a loss of essential minerals needed for healthy blood pressure.

Magnesium is a missing link in blood pressure health

Many studies reveal that magnesium supplementation is having a HUGE impact on general health.  Our bodies require magnesium for

energy production, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, calcium homeostasis, and heart rhythm normalization.  Blood pressure

is one of the areas that is significantly helped by dosing with proper types of magnesium.  Some of the factors in our daily lives that deplete

this necessary mineral for health are:

.  Most diets are sorely lacking 'foods' that contain and restore magnesium into the body.  Diets rich in nuts, seaweed, avocados, black beans and dark chocolate :)  help to give back to our bodies through nutrition.

. Most people have lifestyles that contribute to stress and consume refined sugars, caffine and alcohol which delplete magnesium levels.  Many prescription meds (PPI's for instance) also deplete magnesium (3).  Check out magnesium effects if you are on medications.

.  Most people are using inferior forms of magnesium which results in not getting the benefits you are seeking.  Cheap forms of magnesium like magnesium citrate and oxide are about 10% absorbable.  While they are really inexpensive, they are a waste of your hard earned money.  Magnesium Citrate (Natural Calm) used long term can lower your ceruloplasmin levels, which helps to regulate iron and copper in your body. You want healthy levels of ceruloplasmin to avoid unbound iron and/or copper issues. Some healthcare professionals claim this is the cause of most diseases and disorders in the body.

Topical Magnesium

Topical magnesium bypasses the gut which eliminates the diarrhea affect that most oral magnesium can cause.  It goes to work quickly and

effectively distributing this necessary mineral throughout our bodies.  Easy to apply and fast acting, this type of application is quickly gaining

support of consumers and the medical community.

The answer to blood pressure issues can be as easy as direct application of Magnesium Chloride to your skin!  Our Transdermal Cream

contains Magnesium Chloride from the Dead Sea which also contains extra minerals your body needs.  This solution is easy and worth trying

for anyone that suffers from hypertension.
