The powerful healing properties of comfrey, lavender and calendula are combined in an olive oil infusion that can be used for a variety of skin issues. This salve can be used for just about anything to do with the skin: burns, bruises, scars, dry or chapped skin & lips, cuts, scrapes, wounds, gashes, insect bites, irritations, eczema, bed & pressure sores, fungal infections, etc.

This product also works well on animal wounds - it has no ill effect if they lick it off. We use it on hot spots on our dogs with wonderful results.

Comfrey and comfrey root has been used from very ancient times, and is one of nature's greatest healers. Used for arthritis, it soothes and heals inflamed tissues, and it helps reduce swelling and pain in a most remarkable way. It also helps to heal wounds, burns, and broken bones.

The wound healing properties of lavender make it an excellent application in all cases of external injuries, while the antiseptic properties disinfect the area. Lavender is also soothing when applied to insect bites and stings relieving the itch and soothing the inflammation.

The dried petals of the calendula plant are used in tinctures, ointments, and washes to speed the healing of burns, bruises, and cuts, as well as the minor infections they cause. It has immune stimulant properties as well as an estrogenic effect. Calendula soothes inflamed tissues and also reduces pain.

WARNING: Because Comfrey tends to knit a wound together so quickly, do not consider using it on a wound that is so deep that healing the top surface will prevent the under layers from healing properly. Also do not ever use Comfrey unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT THE WOUND IS STERILE, WITH NO HINT OF FESTERING, PUS, OR INFECTION EXISTING, because you do not want Comfrey to heal the surface of the wound over an existing infection.
